seminarThis week, the Foothills Event Center will be hosting Nevada County’s Board of Supervisors. They’re having their annual workshop, which will be open to the public.

The Board of Supervisors will meet here at the Foothills Event Center on Wednesday, January 27th and Thursday, January 28th. The workshop runs each day from 8:30am to 5:00 pm.

Richard A. Haffey, County Executive Officer, has set these items and more onto the agenda for Wednesday’s workshop:

  • Fiscal Report

  • Hazardous Vegetation Abatement

According to MyNevadaCounty.com, “The Board of Supervisors is the legislative and executive body of county government and also serves as the governing body of the Nevada County Sanitation District No. 1 and the Nevada County Housing Authority. In addition, members of the Board represent the County on numerous intergovernmental bodies.” They have many duties, including: determining what should be done with the annual budget, approving contracts, holding public hearings, handling annual audits, among many other tasks.
