The Foothills Event Center celebrated its grand opening and welcomed a wide range of guests this last Tuesday night. The Foothills crew including the Founder Mardie Caldwell provided an informal evening of elegance and entertainment and welcomed everyone to the new venue; an outstanding addition to Nevada County’s cultural offerings. Living in such an incredibly creative community, we all know there is no lack of artistic expression. The Foothills Event Center is created to serve this desire of our art-loving public to be together and share beautiful experiences, from concerts to elegant theme dinners, painting parties and all imaginable celebrations and get-togethers.
The event opened with a grand ribbon cutting ceremony, performed by founder Mardie Caldwell. In the presence of her loved ones, family, friends, as well as supporters and representatives of Nevada County businesses and Chamber of Commerce she cut the festive red ribbon with a pair of Alice in Wonderland scissors, which added to the magic. Speeches of acknowledgement and gratitude were given and appreciation for the new venue was shared amongst everyone. About 200 people attended the opening and supported Mardie and her team in their incredible efforts of bringing more beauty and elegance to Nevada County.
A small group of remarkable musicians gave a sneak preview of the coming Guitar Extravaganza, tasty hors d’oeuvres and sweet desserts were served by caterer Antonio Ayestaran. Local wines were enjoyed at the historic bar all evening. The intimate booths were showcasing painters from As If Studios allowing guests to sit back and enjoy the festive atmosphere while nibbling on deliciously flavored meatball skewers and sipping on a glass of wine. Fabulous flower arrangements of orchids, feathers and fresh eucalyptus were graciously provided by Grass Valley Florist completing the setting of unparalleled elegance the Foothills Event Center is committed to.
