largeLocal non-profit organization Sammie’s Friends will be holding their volunteer appreciation dinner at the Foothills Event Center this Sunday, March 13.

According to the Sammie’s Friends website, their mission “…is to provide medical care for the animals at the Nevada County Animal Shelter, making them adoptable, and to support other disadvantaged animals in Nevada County that without help would continue to suffer or would be euthanized.”

Sammie’s Friends operates the Nevada County Animal Shelter, located at 14647 McCourtney Road. They also have a thrift shop on Main Street in Grass Valley. At the shelter, thrift shop, and serving as foster parents, there are over 100 volunteers helping Sammie’s Friends. You can learn more about this great organization on their website, SammiesFriends.org.
