Our ballroom area set up and ready for the fundraiser to start!

Habitat for Humanity’s ‘Street of Dreams’ event held at the Foothills was a smashing success! You can read about this fundraiser in our prior blog post, Habitat for Humanity’s ‘Street of Dreams’ 2016. Generous donors pitched in to help the Habitat for Humanity to achieve their goal of constructing affordable homes in Nevada County. They provide homes for low-income, hardworking individuals right here in Grass Valley and Nevada City.  All of the proceeds from the event went towards construction costs for homes in the 16-home Heritage Oaks Project on Joyce Drive in Grass Valley.

At this fundraiser, our Event Coordinators set up tables in the ballroom area for guests to enjoy appetizers, drinks, networking, and a fun and friendly live auction.

There were also tables set up around the edges of our ballroom and outside on the patio for a silent auction. In the silent auction, guests perused the items up for bidding and wrote their bids on a sheet of paper. Habitat for Humanity also used the Foothills Event Center’s conference room, setting it aside as a VIP lounge.

The bar was stocked with soda, wine, water, and beer, along with a complimentary glass commemorating the fundraiser. Guests sat down for a generous buffet with items such as coconut prawns, a gourmet mac and cheese bar, delicious desserts, and Korean roasted mini meatballs.

Habitat for Humanity’s fundraiser is a good example of how flexible our event space is. You could truly host an event of any type at our elegant Nevada County venue! We’ve held many types of events, from weddings to memorial services, and debate viewing parties to painting classes.
