Nevada County Economic Resource Council (ERC) VIP dinner and panelist conversationThe Foothills was delighted to be the Nevada County event venue of choice for the Nevada County Economic Resource Council VIP dinner held recently!

The Nevada County Economic Resource Council’s goal is to perform initiatives so that our county can become recognized among the most economically ambitious rural areas in the country by 2022. Nevada County Economic Resource Council (NCERC or just ERC for short) is aiming to achieve that goal by providing resources, programs, activities, and education for local start-ups, freelancers, and corporations alike.

According to ERC Executive Director Jon Gregory, they are a “…public-private partnership nonprofit corporation with an active 18-member board of directors and dozens of additional volunteers who help drive its key initiatives: Talent Connection, Nevada County Tech Connect, Marketing and Communications, The Royal Welcome and the Fab 5.” Discover more at NCERC.org.

The Nevada County Economic Resource Council VIP dinner began with an hour of business networking. Attendees were then served dinner, which was made by Emily’s Catering and Cakes. Afterwards, a moderated panel conversation was conducted. Panelists sat at a long table atop our fully-adjustable and moveable thrust stage. The ERC made great use of the Foothills Event Center’s pipe and drape along with multi-hued uplighting behind the panelists. The panelist conversation focused on the ERC’s new three-year strategic plan, first unveiled earlier that day at their yearly Economic Development Summit.

ERC used one of the Foothills Event Center’s VIP lounges for a virtual reality company, while another one of our VIP lounges contained a photo booth backdrop and frame where guests could take pictures with one another. Local photographers on hand at the ERC dinner were Joy Porter (Winding Road Imagery) and Roseanne Palmer. Sound and lighting was handled by Greg Whatley of Mountain Event Productions.

Anderson (Clientworks Inc. and Spiral Internet), James Hipkin (Red8 Interactive), Jonathan Palmer (Autometrix, Inc.), and Chad Wingo (The Union and Grass Valley Brewing Co.)

Attendees at this VIP dinner were seated at the Foothill Event Center’s large round tables which were topped with elegant black tablecloths and vases of fresh flowers. This classic decor was well-matched with our sophisticated Chiavari chairs.
