Nevada County’s cannabis conversations about marijuana grows in our countyNevada County’s Cannabis Regulation Community Advisory Group (CAG) has been meeting bi-weekly at the Foothills Event Center. Their goal is to give the Nevada County Board of Supervisors their proposals on developing a permanent, long-term cannabis ordinance. They aim to do so by March 2018.

The Foothills Event Center has played host to a wide variety of events and celebrations, from weddings and birthday parties to memorial services and business seminars. It’s only natural that our accommodating and adaptable event venue is able to host this important discussion that impacts our community.

The initial CAG meeting took place at The Foothills Event Center on Tuesday, June 13th and the second on Tuesday, June 27. There are several upcoming meetings scheduled, and the public is invited to attend. Meetings are slated for every other Tuesday from 2:00 to 5:00, here at the Foothills Event Center on 400 Idaho-Maryland Road in Grass Valley. Here’s the schedule for upcoming meetings:

  • July 11
  • July 25
  • August 8
  • August 22

A group of Nevada County residents applied and were selected as members of the CAG to represent the public. The debate is if Nevada County should permit commercial grows, or concentrate on personal marijuana grows for medicinal purposes. The CAG is also debating whether county residents should be allowed to have larger grows which would supply the state.
