The Foothills Event Center is proud to host the 1st Annual California Dreamers fundraiser to take place in Nevada County! The event will take place this Saturday, August 5th from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. The fundraiser will begin with a social hour for networking. A prize raffle will take place, and guests can enjoy live music while sipping on wine or beer from the Foothills Event Center’s historic bar.
Join in for a night filled with education, motivation, and support for immigrants! At 6:00, a keynote address from Tomas Evangelista and Doris Romero, the co-founders of California Dreamers will be given. Former California State Assemblymember and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Delaine Eastin will make an appearance as the guest speaker for this event. Eastin is currently a candidate for governor of California. An additional speaker will be Nevada County Supervisor, Heidi Hall.
The mission of the California Dreamers organization is to protect immigrants and help them gain citizenship. They also seek to educate the community. Saturday’s fundraiser will help the California Dreamers in their community service projects, which include feeding the homeless, helping out with Meals on Wheels, and facilitating “Know Your Rights” events for immigrants.
