One Source – Empowering Caregivers is going to hold their first annual fundraiser at the Foothills Event Center on Saturday, September 16th from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. Titled “HeART & Wine Gala,” this fundraiser will take the form of an art auction, complete with music, food, and wine. We hope that you can join us next Saturday night at this delightful event for a wonderful cause!
This non-profit organization is relatively new to Nevada County. It was founded in December 2014 by Donna Raibley, a caregiver herself. She saw the need for hope and support to those who give so much of themselves. One Source – Empowering Caregivers provides no-cost relief for caregivers who are caring for their loved ones at home. The non-profit organization enhances the quality of life for these caregivers as well as their care recipients. If you’re a caregiver and you’re overwhelmed, know that you’re not alone.
About One Source – Empowering Caregivers, Diane Miessler, R.N., B.S.N., says “…I was impressed by the scope of the training and the caliber of volunteers. I would not hesitate to use this service if I were a full-time caregiver; everyone involved is very committed to providing a quality service, free of charge. Musical entertainment will be provided by a variety of groups: Purdon’s Crossing, Earles of Newtown, Sibling Revelry, and the Ruckrich Family Band. You can get a sneak peek at the art available for auction now, at EmpoweringCaregivers.org. The bidding will begin at 8:30 pm, with the music and party lasting until 10:00 pm. Since the Foothills Event Center isn’t located in a residential area, we’re able to host your fundraiser or other event until as late as you’d like!
You can purchase a ticket at the Book Seller, Art Works Gallery, as well as One Source. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 if you purchase at the door.
