The Norah Foundation's book fair Have you been wondering what to get the children in your life for Christmas? Then come pick out some fun and educational books at the Foothills Event Center this Saturday! The Norah Foundation of Nevada County will be holding their annual children’s book fair here from 9:00 am to noon. This is just in time for Christmas presents and stocking stuffers! You’ll have 1,800 bright, colorful, and fun titles on a wide variety of subjects to choose from.

The Norah Foundation‘s goal is to help parents with a child who’s facing a health-related challenge. The funds that they raise goes towards items to help families who have a child in the neonatal or pediatric intensive care. These families are assisted with items such as hotel stays, gas cards, toys, and restaurant gift cards.

The Foothills Event Center hosted The Norah Foundation’s New Year’s Eve Extravaganza earlier this year as well. You can learn more about this fabulous event in our blog posts “New Year’s Eve Extravaganza to Benefit The Norah Foundation” and “Nevada County Non-Profit Organization’s Benefit a Success!

Around 70% of the proceeds from Saturday’s book fair will go to The Norah Foundation’s programs, including the Sutter Sacramento NICU Library, Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital waiting rooms, Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Resource Bags for NICU families, the UC Davis NICU Library, and gift bags that The Norah Foundation assembles for families.

So come out on Saturday to purchase some engaging and educational books for children. Let’s fill our hospitals with some great books, which will allow a child to escape their circumstances in an amazing adventure. As Mason Cooley put it, “Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are.”
