Painted Mandolin in performancePainted Mandolin is set to give an upbeat and energetic show next month, as part of our curated concert series “It’s Happening at the Foothills!” We know you’ll have a blast jamming to Painted Mandolin’s stylings, as they explore the acoustic side of Jerry Garcia’s music. The concert is slated to begin at 7:30 pm on Saturday, January 12.

Painted Mandolin is an acoustic quartet that features multi-instrumental genius, Joe Craven. Craven previously played with The Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band and David Grisman Quintet. Painted Mandolin plays Jerry Garcia’s music originating from his Jug Band days through the Grateful Dead’s “Reckoning” period, to Garcia/Grisman. Along with Craven on mandolin, violin, and percussion, Painted Mandolin includes Matt Hartle playing lead guitar, Larry Graff on rhythm guitar, and accompanist Terry Shields on bass guitar.
