Petty Luv will perform at the epic Tom Petty Birthday Bash!Petty Luv is set to return to the Foothills Event Center for a benefit concert to raise money for the Western Gateway Bike Park. The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 20th from 4:30 to 11:00 pm. All ages are welcome!

There will be food trucks and bike games in our parking lot, along with a silent auction, raffle, and beer from local breweries. All proceeds will go to Western Gateway Bike Park, the first bike park in our area!

Petty Luv will begin their performance at 8:00 pm. The band initially appeared at the Foothills for the Tom Petty Birthday Bash last October. They’re a fun Tom Petty tribute band, dedicated to keeping his music alive through frequent performances.

Bicyclist completes a jump on an outdoor courseThe bike park is being built in and around the wooded oaks surrounding the Western Gateway Park dog park. If you’re not familiar with bike parks, they’re a place for people to ride bikes, practice skills, and try jumps.

Typically, bike parks include trails, skills courses, jumps, pump tracks, and a dual slalom course, among other features. The Western Gateway Bike Park will be suitable for bikers of all ages and skill levels, from toddlers to expert.

It’ll be a spot for people to gather and have fun! The park’s designers wanted it to integrate with the natural feel of Western Gateway, so it’s being kept woodsy and simple. Jump lines will weave through the existing forest, with pump tracks and a dual slalom course located in open meadow-like areas.

Many in our area are excited about this park, which will soon be open to the public! Says Cru Dorsey, a local graphic designer, “This project started nearly 10 years ago and to see the level of community involvement and engagement after all the years of push back is heartwarming. Truly looking forward to the experiences and moments to come at this dynamic facility. Finally, a place for families, individuals, clubs, etc. to attend free of cost and at all skill levels. Richard Baker and the whole team involved have done a remarkable job making this dream a reality.”

Father and son enjoy a bike park rideThe bike park is a community-supported and community-funded project which is being professionally designed and built. Professional bike park builder Steve Wentz of Momentum Trail Concepts will prepare the dirt trails and jumps. Western Gateway Bike Park has the opportunity to come to life with the support of businesses in our community, local non-profits, and YOU!
