Step up your Mother’s Day game and treat mom to an afternoon full of laughs! On Sunday, May 12th at 3:00, The Center for the Arts presents a Mother’s Day Comedy Special happening here at The Foothills Event Center.
In this matinee performance, you’ll hear three top comedians from the Best of the San Francisco Comedy Competition: Laurie Kilmartin, Myles Weber, and Steph Garcia. End your Mother’s Day weekend with some of the funniest stand-up comedy at the Foothills Event Center!
About the Comics
Laurie Kilmartin, pictured above, began performing standup in 1987. She’s appeared on Conan, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Comedy Central. Kilmartin has written two books, Shitty Mom (2012) and Dead People Suck (2018). She’s written for Tough Crowd w/Colin Quinn (Comedy Central) and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on CBS. Kilmartin is currently a writer for Conan on TBS. Says the Denver Post, “…she has that star charisma that makes an audience warm to her the second she hits the stage…” And The Media Underground effuses, “…I can’t think of any female stand-up acts that are capable of covering the kind of areas that Laurie Kilmartin seemed at ease with. Her political edge had a pluckiness to it that was both honest and admirable…”
Myles Weber took first place in the 40th Annual San Francisco International Comedy Competition. Past competitors include Robin Williams, Dana Carvey, Ellen Degeneres, Louis CK, and Dane Cook. Weber was also voted “Best of The Fest” at the Burbank and San Luis Obispo Comedy Festivals. He’s appeared on MTV’s Greatest Party Story Ever and hosted for Portico TV and Popular Science.
Steph Garcia is a self-described thug wife, mediocre mom, writer, and hella funny comedian.
She’s known for her quick wit, ferocious sarcasm, impersonations of drunk girls and hysterical, yet vulnerable stories of life including marriage, kids and regrets.

As The Center for the Arts undergoes a long-anticipated multi-million dollar renovation, their signature programming continues through The Center OnTheGo series. This series brings a variety of acts to creative venues throughout Nevada County, including The Foothills Event Center. The Foothills has already played host to Center OnTheGo performances, including the 43rd Annual San Francisco Comedy Competition.
