Singer-songwriter Crystal Bowersox strives to create music that brings a positive message of love and light to the world. Drawing upon influences from folk-pop, classic rock, soul, blues and country, hers is the kind of music that resonates with the spirit.
On Sunday, August 25, at 8:00 pm, The Center for the Arts will present Crystal Bowersox live in concert at The Foothills Event Center as part of their “OnTheGo” concert series. This series brings world-class musical talent to our community in venues throughout Nevada County until the grand reopening of their new downtown venue.
Crystal Bowersox was introduced to the world on the 9th season of American Idol, a gig which ultimately led her to the recording studio. She’s released two LP’s, two EPs, and several singles. The accomplished singer-songwriter is slated to release a live album, “Alive.” The album title is a play on words describing the rawness of the tracks, and it also concerns the place of joy, fulfillment, and stability where Crystal currently is in her life.
Crystal aims to make her live show is a safe space for attendees. Her music is both tender and tough, rugged yet perfected, and it embodies several genres without falling neatly into one. One of Crystal’s songwriting partners says that she has “a voice like dirt and diamonds.”
