Looking for the perfect thing to do for date night on Valentine’s Day? After you finish dinner, come on over to the Foothills to dance the night away with Love Train! On Thursday, February 14, the soul band “Love Train” will make a special Valentine’s Day appearance at the Foothills Event Center.
The band presents a set perfect for such an occasion; they play 1960’s soul hits from greats like Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, and Wilson Pickett. We’ll have delicious, decadent desserts as well as wine and beer available for purchase. This is a sweet “It’s Happening at the Foothills” concert that you won’t want to miss!
Love Train is a six-piece band of musicians whose talent will touch your soul. They embody 1960s R&B and soul music, and put on a great show! Get ready to spin your date around the dance floor to hits like “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay,” “In the Midnight Hour,” and “When a Man Loves a Woman.”
Bandmates Jonathan Lyerly and Karel Hendee formerly played together in the bands Sgt. Funky, Steadyhand, and the old-time country group Ragged But Right. Lead singer and guitarist Jonathan Lyerly grew up listening to ’60s songs from singers in the South and always dreamed of starting an R&B and soul band. Bassist and vocalist Karel Hendee’s musical roots began through dance. Music with a soulful message inspired her back then, and it continues to push her to pursue her passion for music.
Lyerly and Hendee are joined by drummer Tim Bulkley, and backed by a fantastic three-piece horn section, made up of Phil Kember, John DeBoer, and Jerry Grant. This horn section has played with such acts as the Temptations. Together, they present a soulful night of hits that will keep you dancing.
We’re looking forward to hosting Love Train for a fun Valentine’s Day special. Bring your sweetie, and dance the night away to some great old-school soul music!
